People ask "what does the WhatsApp Business API cost in India?" The honest answer is that there are two separate costs.
1. Meta's message charges
WhatsApp (Meta) charges for each template message that is delivered, based on its category: marketing, utility or authentication. The rate depends on the country of the customer and changes from time to time, so always check Meta's current rate card.
Replies inside the 24-hour window after a customer writes to you are free. BulkyGrow does not add any markup to Meta's charges: Meta bills the card you add in your own Meta account.
2. Your software plan
You also need software to use the API: to import contacts, build templates, send campaigns, and reply from a team inbox. BulkyGrow plans start at ₹999 a month (Growth is ₹2,999 a month), with a 3-day free trial. Longer periods are cheaper per month. See the pricing section for the current plans.
How to keep your cost down
- Send to people who want it. Opted-in customers read and reply, so you do not pay to message people who ignore you.
- Use the right category, and never label a marketing message as utility. WhatsApp reviews this.
- Let customers message you first. Replies within 24 hours cost nothing, and a button on your template can open a free chat.
- Segment. Ten relevant messages cost less than a hundred irrelevant ones.
No GST confusion
We are an MSME and are not registered under the Goods and Services Tax (GST), so no GST is charged and you receive a Bill of Supply. If we register in future, tax will be added to prices only after we give notice.
